So, here we are, a few weeks have been and gone so I decided it was time to write another post. Since Salute, I have been mostly painting 6mm Achaemenid Persians, not I hasten to add, the ones from the aforementioned show, but some rather nice Rapier chaps. With my system of three 40x20mm bases to a unit, I have three units of Sparabara. Two are complete and the third is just waiting for its final colour before varnishing. I also have a couple of units of their medium infantry fellows undercoated and ready to go. Then I can start of the Salute chaps. (Pics will come later). I must admit I am looking forward to Broadside this year. It's a nice sized show that has something for most people of a wargaming bent. I usually stock up on paints and any other peripheral bits and pieces I can think of. I don't really buy many little chaps as I have quite a burgeoning 6mm lead pile as it is. Of course, the wargaming butterfly reared it's head the other day. From out of absolutely nowhere I suddenly had an urge to check out the possibility of doing the Jacobite Rebellion in 10mm. Luckily, the urge has mostly passed but once you start scratching an itch... In other news, I have branched out a little. The missus decided that she wanted to zhuzh up -I say zhuzh up, it was more of a complete overhaul- the lounge and so I got the job of up-scaling a nest of three tables we had. Now seeing as I haven't really done anything with wood for quite a time, I watched a few videos -as you do- and went for it. Two days later the tables are done in dark grey for the legs and light grey for the top. Nice. Then even more zhuzhing was done with the addition of some mandala patterned stickers. Also nice. Happy with it. MickS
